After Thursday's premiere night, The Stage's faultfinder Mark Shenton said the West End was not there to "support the self images of minor Hollywood performers".
"There are truly qualified on-screen characters to have influence and she's not qualified. She was so out of her alliance. We are discussing the wrong Lindsay here. It's Nigel Lindsay we ought to be discussing. He is a genuine performer."
Quentin Letts, writing in the Mail, was through and through more merciless, guaranteeing Lohan's acting "is that of a not exceptionally skilled schoolgirl".
